Air Mauritius is expanding its markets in Europe with the setting up of the Amsterdam hub, in coordination with KLM. In this context, Air Mauritius is recruiting an Executive Sales & Airport Representative for The Netherlands. The position will be based in Amsterdam.

Overall job purpose and responsibility

Reporting to the Sales Manager offline Europe & North America based in Paris, you will be responsible to achieve profitable sales revenue to an agreed target for the sales territory of The Netherlands and if deemed necessary assist and/or participate to the coverage of Europe offline markets feeding traffic on Air Mauritius flights through Amsterdam, and for a portfolio of clients. As an Ambassador of Air Mauritius airline, you will represent the company at the airport and focus on customer service supervision in order to strengthen the commercial ties with the customers.

Main duties

  • Achieve set revenue & volume targets;
  • Complete, submit and report weekly sales activity to Sales Manager offline Europe & North America, marketing actions and market developments;
  • Propose and execute individual account development plans for Tour Operators and commercial deal agents;
  • Identify pockets of business within portfolio and implement action plan to generate incremental revenue to Air Mauritius;
  • Perform and undertake actions to ensure fidelity and expansion of existing customers;
  • Attend trade events and meetings acting as an Ambassador of Air Mauritius;
  • Identify new business revenue streams for future business opportunities;
  • Deliver marketing action plan and innovative ideas to push destination Mauritius and Air Mauritius products and services;
  • On departure days, act as the Representative of Air Mauritius at the airport for KL/MK code share services and ensure the delivery of high level customer service;
  • Play the role of Air Mauritius ambassador and favour the Air Mauritius experience;
  • Build strong commercial links at the Airport with key Air Mauritius customers (VIPs, frequent flyers…) and airport stakeholders;
  • Coordinate with Airline and Airport representatives and handling agent to offer seamless customer service at the Airport.

  • Analytical skills using in-house systems to justify business actions;
  • Flexibility, self-control and a high sense of service;
  • Ability to work autonomously, under pressure and to short lead times;
  • Strong planning, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills across all levels of hierarchy.

Experience and professional competence

Educated to degree level or equivalent

Approximately 10 years airline or travel industry sales experience with a minimum of 5 years in a support/account management role (account management and sales, commercially working with travel trade partners).

The candidate’s requirements also include:

  • Fluent (written and oral) in Dutch and English; French would be appreciated;
  • Frequent travels in The Netherlands and to Paris, MK Europe office;
  • Good skills of office systems (word, excel, powerpoint);
  • Knowledge of airport operations, airport experience;
  • Knowledge of GDS Amadeus, BSP & Revenue systems;
  • Driver’s license;
  • Home office would be recommended.
