As the largest cruise industry trade association with 15 offices globally, CLIA has representation in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia. CLIA's mission is to support policies and practices that foster a safe, secure and healthy cruise ship environment for the more than 23 million passengers who cruise annually, as well as to promote the value, desirability and affordability of the cruise vacation experience.
Functieomschrijving / Job description
We are looking for a National Representative providing CLIA Europe with representation in the Netherlands with the goal of ensuring that the interests of CLIA NL members and its stakeholders are adequately protected. Your key responsibilities are to promote cruise holidays and create awareness of the cruise industry whilst supporting the enlargement of the cruise market in the Netherlands. You represent the cruise industry in the Netherlands and serve as liaison between CLIA Netherlands and CLIA Europe.
Tasks
- Create, develop and implement an approved Annual Business Plan
- Advise and assist with the creation and implementation of the CLIA Europe PR and communication plan as relevant to the Netherlands
- Be a prime contact for Dutch external and public affairs, and the media
- Participate in CLIA Europe meetings as required
- Arrange and participate in meetings of the CLIA Netherlands Advisory Cruise Council
- Develop and execute events and activities in the Netherlands in line with CLIA standards and guidelines and as agreed in the Annual Business Plan
- Support the promotion and development of the CLIA Europe Travel Agent Programme
- Support the CLIA Executive Partner Programme and the Netherlands Associate Scheme, in terms of recruitment and retention and supporting associated activities and events as required
- Ensure the smooth operation of CLIA Netherlands Cruise Council administrative, financial and business affairs including but not limited to legal, financial and operational issues
- Assist with the creation, development and distribution of CLIA promotional material that may include local website pages, newsletters, campaign literature, social media messaging, digital campaigns and other activity
- Develop, enlarge and maintain a database of stakeholders for CLIA Netherlands
- Provide regular reporting to CLIA Europe on all CLIA Netherlands activity and affairs
- From time to time the National Representative may be called upon to undertake other duties and activity in line with their overall role and as the business requires.
Functie-eisen / Skills & experience
- Affinity with the international cruise industry, preferably with experience
- Leadership skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels
- Representative and good communication skills with a natural affinity for public speaking
- Access to a broad network of contacts in stakeholder communities relevant to the industry
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and passion to commit to CLIA’s mission
- Ability to work independently and pro-active within an international organisation
- Education HBO-level
- Fluent in English and Dutch both oral and written
- Available per direct

Your international contract is on freelance basis for an average of 20 hours per week.
